Rolling Hills is a gated city located at the top of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The main entrance is off Palos Verdes Drive North with secondary entrances at Crenshaw and Crest Road as well as Palos Verdes Drive East. Rolling Hills is well known for its equestrian estates, large lots, and privacy. The views are spectacular too!

The Rolling Hills General Store in Palos Verdes - Ride to the Store in LA

There are still places in Los Angeles where you can saddle up and shout "Hey honey, I'm going to the store." At the bridle trail intersection at the corner of PV Drive North & Rolling Hills Road sits the quaint Rolling Hills General Store.  RHGS offers horse feed, tack, bedding, riding clothing, boots, equestrian gifts and more.   Kelly's Corner in the same building sells sandwiches and snacks.

The PV Horseman's Association bulletin board hangs on the side of the building and is a great spot to check for local notes on horses for sale, horse boarding, tack for sale and services.

Horse Property on the Palos Verdes Peninsula

It is not an uncommon sight to see equestrian activity on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Yesterday as I was going about the daily business of life I saw a young rider exercising her horse at the Dapplegray Riding Ring. As I made my way along Palos Verdes Drive North I saw several riders on the trail that parallels the street. As I waited at the traffic light at the entrance to Rolling Hills another group on horseback crossed the street. If you're a horse owner Palos Verdes is a wonderful place to live.

Rolling Hills, the gated community at the top of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, offers exceptional equestrian estates. The hills are laced with riding trails that snake deep within the canyons and rise to the peak of the hills. A ride through Rolling Hills will include views of the stunning Southern California coastline and a bird's eye view of the Los Angeles metropolitan sprawl.

Rolling Hills Estates is another horse-friendly city on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Dapplegray and Buckskin Lane properties often come with a stable and corral. Many of the properties have direct access to riding trails and use of the community riding ring. If you're looking for the most affordable horse property on the Palos Verdes Peninsula Rolling Hills Estates is a good place to begin your search.

The gated community of Portuguese Bend in Rancho Palos Verdes located off Palos Verdes Drive South is another delightful equestrian neighborhood. Perched high in the hills above the Pacific Ocean a ride through this bucolic setting will gift you with stunning vistas of Mother Nature at her finest.

The Palos Verdes Drive East area of Rancho Palos Verdes is home to many properties zoned for horses. It is a bit more challenging to access riding trails from this location. However, the abundant trails of Rolling Hills and Rolling Hills Estates are nearby.
