Thank You, Edison
The eastern entrance to Palos Verdes along Palos Verdes Drive North, and the introduction to the Palos Verdes horse property corridor in Rolling Hills Estates, is about to become visually more beautiful. Southern California Edison announced they will remove 11 power poles and replace them with underground utilities. It's long overdue.
Yes, residents will not be happy with the traffic delays, but the end result will be worth the aggravation. The beautification area will extend from Montecillo Drive to Hitching Post Drive, actually a short distance but includes the busy intersection of Palos Verdes Drive North and East. The intersection will remain open throughout the construction phase.
My introduction to Palos Verdes in 1988 was via the eastern entrance, and I must admit the removal of power poles will ratchet up first impression levels. Good riddance and thank you, Edison.
